eco dyed 2013

This was last year work and there are some pieces that I didn’t share here on this blog. Thought I take this opportunity to do it before I get overwhelmed with other projects.

E. cinerea leaves and stems on raw silk

I used the stems to outline a dress shape

Ailanthus altissima (tree of heaven), still wet on fabric

unfurling the frongs of Ailanthus altissima, or tree of heaven

dark imprints of tied string markings

plant imprints on a piece of wood from months of eco printing

seeded eucalyptus and onion skin, with iron rust on silk

cotton tee-shirt bundled in rusty can with eucalyptus

eucalyptus leaves dipped in iron solution on cotton

acer leaf print on silk

Acer is most beautiful. I can’t get such pretty purple. Great achievement for 2013.
