3-d felting project
This is another finished piece of my felted images inspired by a line of dinnerware, designed by Kate Williams. It depicts a chickadee perched on a Brazilian pepper tree or commonly known as Christmas berry tree. The red berries on the leafless branches in the white background looks lovely.
Why a chickadee is called the chickadee because when it chirps, it sound sounds literally like chick-a-de-de.

I needle felt the bird’s body and head separately with wool tops. For depth and perception, I stuffed small amount of wool inside the bird’s body before attaching it to the white background. It makes me think of Christmas in December–evergreen and pretty mistletoe, gingerbread and warm pumpkin pie. It’s sweet to remember.
