I made this dress for myself after dyeing the material with eucalyptus leaves and lichen. The material I used was silk noir or raw silk. It is a nubby fabric with flecks on both sides. Raw silk is 100% natural and it is a little rough and bumpy to touch because it is woven from the “first spin” of silk. Finer silk are woven from re-spinning, thus working out kinks to produce a thin and uniform thread.
The sleeveless dress is a flare A-line with a rounded hemline. For contrast, the neckline and armhole are bias hemmed with a piece of material that was bundled in strings and dyed to created tied marks.
